Maggie,
Wanted to alert you and all members that there's a place in Ft. Lauderdale called Adele's Parrot Place, an excellent facility where my husband and I purchased Gus and all his "equipment" about 10 years ago. Adele sells hand fed babies, food, toys, everything. Her shop bird, an 18 year old congo named "Tuki", was stolen - along with her cage - almost a month ago. Nothing else from the shop was taken. Tuki always liked to stay near the front entrance, away from other birds, because she prefers people to parrots. In fact, she is one of the friendliest greys we ever saw, and would let anyone pet her. All of Adele's regular clients know and adore Tuki. Adele is just devastated and heartsick and there is a substantial reward. If anyone on this board lives in the South Florida area, and/or could provide any leads, Adele can be contacted at birdsareit@aol.com.
In the meantime, we're hoping with all our hearts that Tuki is returned safely. There have been a few false leads, heartbreakingly, but Adele is not giving up hope. She has done TV and newspaper ads, they've looked at flea markets, other bird stores, etc., but nothing yet. If everyone keeps their ears & eyes open, maybe Tuki can be returned to her mommy.
Thanks-
Sharon & Gus
