Hi Lorraine,
Get the best cleaners you can find. They must be HEPA. Do not use the ionic stuff, as they can be worse for asthma. Consumer Report REALLY panned them.
I use two different air filters in my birds' room. First one called Dust Free, which has filters you change every few months..... and other is called IQAir and is the top choice of the Allergy Buyers Club. I suggest that you GOOGLE the Allergy Buyers Club and they talk about all kinds of air filters.
Also, I use miele vacuum cleaners because they blow the air up and not out, so they are not blowing around dust. Also, mine has a HEPA filter in it.
Also bathe your babies a few times per week. That will cut down dust. Also, I painted my guys' room with semi gloss paint, so that I can wipe down the walls frequently. Keep the room SQUEAKY clean.
Easier said than done!
Maggie-
