I took Chili to the vet and blood was drawn. His white blood cell count was very high. He was given some anti-biotics and within a few days Chili was back. He is talking up a storm now and livening the house up. I was hesitant to have blood drawn but it needed to be done. I am glad I did. It was awful seeing Chili in obvious pain.

Drawing blood is very serious and it is important to find vets with experience doing it. Some birds have died from the shock.

However, it is important to have it drawn at certain times when needed. It also helps to be able to really detect the overall health of the bird.

I'm relieved that Chili is doing SO much better!
