This is wonderful news!!! Just PLEASE be extremely careful about the dogs. Alex has shown you that he is afraid of them, especially since there are two who can gang up.
An idea is to keep working with the dogs too in letting them know that Alex is family and they are NEVER to touch him. You can get that across to your dogs in a calm, firm but loving way.
I'm so glad that you noticed the biting with the fear of the dog. When I first got my Merlin, she used to hold onto my thumb to help feel secure on my hand. I did not know that and kept trying to pull away. The holding on and me not understanding was the trigger that started Merle's biting problem as a young chick.
