Hi Casey,

There are SO many opinions about the fly/no fly question. But remember, just because you clip, it is NOT permanent. Feathers grow out and your baby can always fly in the future.

Based on the "reticence" that I picked up from reading your post, this is what I would do. Have the baby clipped... and bring him home and build that TRUST bond first and learn about his personality. That way, you would be able to make a much more educated decision about flying/not flying in the future. He needs to become comfortable in your home and establish a relationship with your Amazon.

From your post, I gather that your new baby has been flying at the breeder's home. That is great. He will come to you with more confidence and overall balance, even if he's clipped. When clipping, make sure it is NOT too short. My guys have a long clip where they can glide down.
