I breed African lovebird. There are a few questions which rose during the breeding period. They are:
1) Can I spray my fitchers and black masks with dettol in order to prevent germ?
2) Can I put two chicks of the same age for breading? (eg: the female chick being 95 days old and the male being 100 days old)
3) How do I find the sex of a chick when it is three weeks old?
4) How do i get Violet lovebirds?
5) Do I have to Give a rest to the parent
Hope You will give the necessary information that would be helpful to me.
Thank you
Riyazul

Dear Riyazul,
Unfortunately, we are not breeders... and we know nothing about breeding Lovebirds. Please do a Google search for breeders of that species. Here are some links that I picked up for you:
http://birds.about.com/od/breedingbasics/p/lvbirdbb.htm
http://www.lovebirds.co.nz/breeding/index.php
http://lovebirdsinfo.blogspot.com/2007/02/how-to-mate-lovebirds.html

These links should give you a start. Good luck!
Blessings,

I can add YES you need to give the parents a rest. It is not healthy for the breeder birds or the babies.
