Affection

Postby merlin » Sat Dec 24, 2011 6:00 am

Hi,

louis, my African grey, is about 6. I've had him for about 1 month and he has started regurgitating for me. I understand this is a sign of affection, but he also hangs onto my hand with one foot and drops his wing over my hand, so it's covered... which I don't understand. Has he taken me as his mate?

Thanks,
Alan

Dear Alan,

Aren't YOU a lucky human!?! Yes. Louis has CHOSEN you as his mate. The regurgitation and drooping wing that covers your hand are both signs of his everlasting love for you.

Congratulations!
Maggie
