I just moved my bird into his new cage yesterday morning. I was so happy to see that he didn't freak out, however he will not get on his pearch. I even put one of his old ones in there. He has been climbing around his cage since I put him in. I even put his favorite foods in there in hopes that it will encourage him to stand on his pearch. NO GO!!! Is this normal? What can I do to help him?

It will take time. You may want to let him sleep in his old cage for a few nights until he gets used to the perch and new cage. Then he can wander around ithe cage all day in the light, but still get some sleep.
